Great update on Benny.....playing with a ball and looking so pleased with himself....tail wagging. Big smiles all round, thanks to brilliant foster care with the Boyz and their dad. Well done Benny xxx

A picture of Benny with his favourite person, my friend Pat. He greets her with enthusiasm, likes to sit with her and follows her around. Yes, he does all that with me too but he's more relaxed with Pat.

In an earlier post I referred to Benny as "the perfect House Elf". Well, the other day I went to move his quilt - he wasn't rolled up in it at the time - and underneath I found the remains of three calf hooves, the last small piece of a knuckle bone and three ... socks thumbs.gif

Benny continues to grow in confidence and show new facets of his character. Here he is with his latest favourite "toy". Yes, it's a new knuckle bone(and quite heavy) ...

Dear Special Person

This is just to let you know that I'm still waiting to meet you. I've been here three months now and it's OK - please, don't think I'm complaining - but I'd rather like us to have a quiet life together. “One careful lady owner ”, as they say in the motor trade, would be ideal. Gentlemen may enquire too, of course, but I will vet them thoroughly.

Sounds nice - "Us!" - doesn't it? Please be retired or working from home because I'd like to be with you most of the time. Not that I'm fond of all that cuddly-wuddly stuff. No, I'll just help you do the crossword after breakfast or curl up under the desk while you're web designing … or gardening. I really like pottering around outside while someone is working in the sun. You could take a break and throw my tennis ball (if I haven't chewed it up!).

We could also go out 'cos I look quite smart and sleek now. Though, speaking for myself, we don't need to go far to have a good time. The local park is fine. Or I'll escort you to the Post Office. Sometimes we could visit friends if they don't have noisy children or rowdy dogs. Yes, dogs do tend to bother me a bit. Even the other two here get on my nerves sometimes and as for that hairy thing in the front room … what can I say! I'm not one to push myself forward so I find it's best to go and have a nap under my quilt now and then. But I'll be with you if you need me. And I hope you will.

Thanks for reading
Benny

Benny is doing very well, thanks. You will be able to see how well when I find my camera ... (pray I haven't left it outside). In the month since Ava was homed life here has calmed down and Benny has grown in confidence. Regular readers will know that "the Boyz" (Harpo and Zeppo) operate a closed shop and temporary residents are not expected to have direct access to management (that's me). Benny is standing his ground at mealtimes, is out on border patrol with Zeppo and any spats with Harpo are barely worth the name. In fact he is being considered for membership of The Union of Helpful, Zealous and Beneficial Dogs (hereafter referred to as "The HZB"). At the moment Benny doesn't have the right to vote or bring motions to Council but I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before he's given a union card....
